Abstract
In line with Allport's contact hypotheses, previous research showed that direct intergroup contact can reduce prejudices. However, establishing face-to-face contact is not always feasible. We postulate that Facebook-groups are a setting where direct and observed intergroup contact can develop, reducing prejudices and increasing mutual acceptance. Analyzing the comments of nine Facebook-groups with the destructive and constructive conflict scale, our results indicated that the expression of prejudices decreased and that of mutual acceptance increased over time, both for in- and outgroup members of the Facebook-groups. Only the expression of less prejudices, but not that of more mutual acceptance was predicted by intergroup contact. The influence of group-based motivations on the engagement in intergroup contact is discussed, and the overall findings are integrated in Steele and Brown's process model of media practices

 Dans le cadre du cours de "Questions approfondies de psychologie sociale et interculturelle" dispensé par Laurent Licata & Olivier Klein, les étudiants suivant le MA-2 du master spécialisé en psychologie sociale et interculturelle ont initié des pages Wikipedia entre février et juin 2012. Bien que constituant l'une des sources d'informations les plus importantes sur les savoirs en langue française, celle-ci manquait cruellement de contenus dans ces domaines. Faire une recherche approfondie de la littérature sur un sujet précis, afin de la vulgariser et de la communiquer au grand public, constituait un objectif pédagogique particulièrement stimulant aussi bien pour les étudiants que pour leurs enseignants, qui les ont guidés dans leurs recherches et dans la structuration de leurs articles (sans toutefois écrire une ligne!).
Ce projet a pu être mené grâce à l'aide d' Eric Uyttebrouck, du Centre des Technologies pour l'Enseignement de l'ULB et sera fort probablement reconduit en 2012-2013. Il a également bénéficié de l'aide de "wikipediens" qui ont réagi à notre intiiative et ont aidé les étudiants à rendre leurs productions acceptables pour l'encyclopédie en ligne (dont les exigences sont élevées). Objectification refers to treating people as objects rather than persons. When people are sexually objectified, they are reduced to their sexualized bodies or body parts, available for satisfying the desires of others. At the same time, research on object and person recognition suggests that people are perceived configurally, whereas objects are perceived analytically. For example, the inversion effect (i.e, inverted stimuli are more difficult to recognize than upright ones) occurs for person recognition and not object recognition. Based on our suggestion that sexualized women are perceived similarly to objects, we hypothesized that an inversion effect would emerge for the recognition of sexualized men, but not women. Consistently, an inversion effect only occurred for sexualized men, but not women. Implications for objectification theory are discussed.

Il est nécessaire de mettre à jour le paradigme d’amorçage comportemental : le comportement des participants peut en effet être influencé par des déterminants non conscients, mais les attentes des expérimentateurs jouent aussi un rôle certain.
